Statement of Philosophy
As a Friends (Quaker) school, our educational philosophy is based on the belief that there is “that of God” in everyone and that people of all ages have a need to nurture and well as to be nurtured.
At Pacific Friends School, children are encouraged to grow into whole persons able to:
- Love and reason
- Feel connected to the natural world
- Move their bodies competently
- Resolve interpersonal conflicts peaceably
- Solve problems creatively
- Take pleasure in their own uniqueness
The School curriculum is rooted in Friends values, and we ask parents to be supportive of our program’s value’s:
Community – an identification with, and regard for, each other and all life
Harmony – seeking the resolution of differences by peaceable means
Equality – the appreciation of and respect for all people
Simplicity – the simplicity of truth in speech and action
Curriculum includes activities in the areas of food and nutrition, science and nature, arts and crafts, music, language, large and fine motor skills, to activities that promote problem solving, decision making and social skills.
Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Preschool ages 2-6 years
